How Does Your Mind Create? by Michelle L. Casto, Ph.D.

 

Knowing how your mind works is a great advantage in the modern world

especially since it creates your reality.  

Whether it is a happy and successful reality is up to you.  

Successful (or effective) people know their own minds and recognize the relationship between their thinking and their reality. 

 

They make spiritually smart decisions that are in alignment with a higher power source.

Successful people look within for guidance.

Unsuccessful (or ineffective) people have no clue what they are thinking and see no relationship between their thoughts and their reality.  They make unconscious decisions that are disconnected from a higher power.  Unsuccessful people look to other people for guidance. 

A major problem in the world today is that human beings have not developed their thinking skills. 

Here's a thought to ponder (I love brain twisters).

Just because you have a thought does not mean you are thinking!

Thoughts fly through our heads all day long (to the tune of about 65,000 a day, and 95% of those are thoughts we have already thought, and those are negative and limiting). 

In this mode, we are on autopilot and going nowhere fast, circling the same territory again and again.

Thinking involves a conscious and deliberate act to monitor and choose the thoughts you want to think.

It involves asking yourself questions so you can gain insight and revelation.  It is kind of like conscious dialoguing with yourself and a higher power.

It's been said many times in the field of self-help that we become what we think about all day long.  So when we allow unconscious and negative thoughts to run through our minds all day long, guess what our reality is like?! 

Not a pretty picture. 

Speaking of pictures, are you aware that your brain thinks in images?

Let me demonstrate....

If I were to say--- think of a horse. 

You would think of a horse

If I were to say--- think of a purple horse.                      

You would think of a purple horse.

 

 

If I would say--- DON'T think of a horse.

You would still think of a horse.

See what I mean!

So what are you telling yourself-what to do or what not to do?

If you are saying to yourself:

Don't make a mistake.

Your subconscious cannot see "don't" so it "sees" mistake and that is what you get. 

In fact, research shows the brain cannot "compute" words like no, don't can't, not and yet we use them all the time.

(To do your own research, keep a log of the number of times you and those around you use these words in our daily conversations!)  You will be astonished.

I was--- especially when I did my job on the junior high campus:  "Don't run. Don't talk."  "No talking. "
Ha. The kids do just the opposite! 

 To grow new neural pathways in your brain,  you may want to think/say something like this:

I am completely focused and get my work done ahead of schedule.

Now your brain can go to work on how to make that happen.      

To change results/reality, you will need to think empowering thoughts many times so it can sink in!

Heal Your Soul with Emotional Support to Attract...

There are two parts of you--- an ego and your soul.

The ego is the false you, a mask constructed to help get your emotional needs met. Based on feedback from other egos, you create a persona that is likeable and acceptable to others.

Your soul is your true essence, and this part of you is unlimited, original and eternal. Your soul is here to express itself and to shine brightly and radiantly, despite what other egos might think.

As we march into 2010, which holds the promise of every great thing, you are at a choice point.

How do you choose which path to take. the lower, boring, mediocre road or the higher, exciting and divine road?

Perhaps you reflect back over your life and realize how much more happiness, success, love, and peace you could have experienced if you had thought or acted with a higher consciousness.

Maybe you look ahead and have big dreams that you secretly wish to accomplish but find that little devil called doubt creeping in much too often, and find yourself right back into "default mode."

Maybe you have awoken to the fact that whenever you settle for less than your hearts desires, it does not work out anyway.

I know what it is like...I was stumbling and struggling along for years, just barely making it by financially and emotionally. I was low on the resources of love and money. When I started learning my lessons, taking notice, becoming self-aware, I began to trust myself and the universe to truly take care of me. When I began to trust, I began to let go of the steering wheel, and allow myself to enjoy the ride, putting God in charge of my destination.

After literally bumping my head several times in dangerous car accidents, a few broken hearts, and a starving bank account, I decided it was time to wake up from the trance and start enjoying the dance!

So here's the Truth as I know it.

You are encoded for greatness, and by accepting less than your heart's desires, you are not living up to your fullest potential.

Now is the time to make a lasting change in your consciousness. You can choose to create a new life with better and happier outcomes.

However, if you are divided in your heart or worse yet, an Ego is in charge, this year (and every year henceforth) will turn out much like the last year, disappointing.

ACIM teaches that the ego fears change because it associates it with death/annihilation.

So what is your soul to do?

Your inner self thrives on learning, change and growth.

Answer: Get Emotional Support and Mentoring.

Ike Report and We All Need Help Sometimes

This idea of HELP keeps coming around in my world these days. You
already know how I have admitted that getting the technical help that
I needed has transformed my attitude and sales esults.

This email continues along the lines of helping each other.

Thank you to those of you who emailed me to check on how we were doing
with Hurricane Ike. As you know, Ike tore through much of the Texas
Coast and then continued on up the east coast, so many of you may have
received some sort of wind, rain or discomfort from it. One of my
virtual assistants in Ohio is without power until Sept 21!

I learned a great deal about LIFE this past week as a result of the
storm and having a family of six stay with us who had to evacuate from
Houston. Being with them as they watched the news helplessly,
wondering if there home was still in tact or not made it very close to
home indeed. (not to mention the fact, the storm could have easily
caused us to be the ones evacuated).

What I also noticed is that with the help of good friends, and a safe
space to be, we can turn a negative situation into a positive one. We
ended up spending quality time together cooking, talking, and fishing.
(well they did the fishing, I did the talking, but it was really fun)

We made the best of it and the key thing was everything that was of
real importance---the family--kids and doggies---- were safe and sound

Rebecka, Rich, Brianna, Ashley, Buddy, and Dot left today to assess
the damage, and we are hoping that there home was spared, but we
also realize that many homes were not.

Our prayers go out to all those people who suffered significant
damage.

What was made so clear to me by the Divine is how much we all need
to be able to turn to people we trust in times of change and challenge.

This is what I have stood for for a long time--Emotional Support.
The only way to get things done and done well is by working with a
team. That is why I was recently inspired to create the Soul Success Inner Circle.

I am late letting you know about this--- due to all the chaos
ately, but if you are someone who has a virtual business and find
yourself struggling in your own private storm, there is a rescue boat headed your way---
but you have to get on board in order to receive the help you need.

We start tomorrow....and the cost is so low, you may never seen an
opportunity like this again!

It's simple, really, we are in a time of unprecendented CHANGE and
things are accelerating to a mind-blowing proportion .
To be helped, we must be vulnerable and admit to ourselves that we cannot do it alone.
To not just survive, but to thrive, we all must learn to give help to others and accept help from others when we need it.

And that is a life lesson worth learning.
